Modern Vista

Had a terrific time at this rental in Oceanside. The unit was clean & well-equipped, particularly the kitchen, although we ended up just eating at local restaurants. The view from the unit is beautiful & the beach really is right there, plus it was a perfect "home base" for day trips to Tillamook, Cannon Beach, etc. Would recommend for solo travelers, couples, & families with one or two kids.

My first time booking a vrbo and this was a great one. The apartment has a great view of the ocean, it was clean, well-stocked and well-decorated, and there are plenty of destinations in walking distance of the unit.

Went to Oregon for unpleasant family reasons. Having such a nice place to stay really helped. Sara was exceptionally great. Very clean and comfortable.

The place is in a great location with a beautiful view (though power lines and a portion of another house’s roof disrupts it a bit) and it’s larger than it looks in the photographs, very spacious. The bed is comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. Instructions for appliances and the TV could have been more clear and the addition of a few items, such as a coat hook or stand and a coffee table would have been nice. Sarah, the manager, was fantastic: she texted to let us know early check-in was available, responded to questions immediately and came over to help us get the stove and oven working (it’s simple but not obvious). We did miss having a deck or anyplace to sit outside the unit but it’s a short walk to the beach (and great exercise).

My stay at 1875 Maxwell Rd (The lower unit) - was very nice.

The space is well appointed, the view is OK (not what you might expect for a place in Oceanside but also not bad - there are many old telephone wires blocking the view, and the Lower unit is just too "low" on the building for a truly great view as the home down in front takes up most of the skyline. But still, you can see the Cape and Netarts Bay... so I might be nitpicking here). :)

The interior design and finish are second to none - it has the best kitchen I have seen in any vacation rental in the Northwest... and I travel a fair amount.

If you plan to cook for yourself (which is necessary in this area since there are Zero decent restaurants anywhere nearby) then you will love it. I will come back just for the kitchen. :)

Lounging about after a full day at the beach (which is uncrowded and not far) is quite comfortable. Excellent media system, I was able to easily plug in my own YouTube Premium account (and delete it later) so all my usual distractions were close at hand in the evening or when the clouds rolled in.

This home is far more elegant and impressive than most people's actual home - so it is to be savored for that. Stay a few days, explore the Cape Meares and 3 Capes area - this home will be your luxurious Home Base.

The rental and location was great. The cleanliness of the wasn’t horrible but I feel if someone or a company is being paid to do the job, I would say there’s room for improvement especially spider webs and the carcasses they leave behind mainly in bathroom but also in kitchen where garbage can sits. It seemed almost everything we went to use in the kitchen (drinking glasses, dishes, pots and pans) needed washed before using (dried on food from previous use). We didn’t use the espresso machine because it was left dirty. Went to bbq but no propane. The bed was comfortable and pillows were great. Couch was comfortable too but some of the cushion pillows had a dried white substance on a couple of them and I didn’t want even think what it could be. I’ve rented a lot of places through the years and I would say the housekeeper(s) getting paid to clean this property should have these concerns to their attention.

absolutely my favorite vacation rental yet! i was looking for a peaceful retreat to spend my birthday, & i definitely hit the jackpot here. from booking, to communicating with the owner & property manager (sarah), to the condition of the home...i couldn't have asked for a better experience! the home was absolutely immaculate, i spent most of my time making espresso drinks & catching the views from the couch & daybed ;) i love music & brought my own bluetooth speaker, so i rarely noticed any noise from the rental above. i was very grateful that sarah was able to get the home ready so i could check in earlier on friday, & even allowed me to check out late on monday. i will definitely be returning & recommending this property to my friends :)

I rented this place for some out of town family to stay while on the coast for ten nights. They loved the place. It’s modern and super clean. Self check in was a breeze and management was easy to work with and prompt in answering questions before and during our stay.

This rental was everything we hoped for and more. The communication back and forth was pleasant and helpful. The Rental was absolutely gorgeous!!! Very Spacious & comfortable. The view was heavenly! It was so well equipped we found everything we needed. Thank you for blessing our time together with such a special place! Can't wait to bring my family back!

From the beginning the people at Shore Thing were very available and helpful over email and phone. When I arrived, someone texted to check in and I texted with questions as they arose. I felt very taken care of. The property was very nice with a touch of luxury. It was easy to park. Beautiful short walk to beach. I would definitely stay there again. A couple of things to keep in mind:
1. The place has a totally open floor plan, so I imagine it would not be a great place for people who keep different schedules. Hard to watch TV while someone else is sleeping, for example.
2. The place was a little "fancy to a fault" and it would have been nice to have a coffee machine that did not require a ton of technical skill to use (or require me to bring my own beans) or a refrigerator that would fit a medium pizza box.

I would highly recommend the apartment, Modern Vista, to anyone interested in staying in Oceanside, OR. It was simply, but nicely decorated with modern furnishings. Had a brand new feel and was thoroughly clean! The staff at ShoreThing were very responsive and helpful. We loved Oceanside and felt this apartment was the perfect place for us for the money.

We had a relaxing time at Oceanside. It was quiet and uncrowded. We really like the rental as it was new, clean and well equipped. A suggestion that perhaps the microwave oven could be placed lower. It was way up high which can be dangerous when taking out hot items for shorter folks. There are long stairs to walk up to get to the front door which may be a problem for the elderly. Overall, for us, it was a great place to stay.

Great little hamlet along the coast. The service was spectacular. Everything, down to the kitchen appliances was top notch. We ended up BBQing and it was a blast. We couldn't find a wine bottle opener and the property manager/owner was nice enough to pick one up for us at the local grocery store. Fantastic place to spend a few days!

Such a wonderful escape! Very beautiful and jaw dropping appearance inside and out! Clean as the come! Wonderful guidance! Sarah was on top of everything! Outstanding views! Best parking in town! Can’t wait to enjoy this experience again!!!

However, when it rained, the parking lot for beach access is only a quarter mile from the house. The beach is a long stretch of sand and the town is tiny. A perfect place to isolate with the ocean. Tillamook is a quick drive for big grocery stores and shops. This made this area the perfect place to stay.

We stayed as a couple in March and couldn’t think of a thing they missed. Beautiful lodging, quaint and small town, quiet beach.

We had a beautiful weekend in Oceanside. The condo was spacious and clean and full of all the amenities one could want. Because of shutdown, we cooked all our meals and the kitchen had everything we needed.
